Melanie Barber is the Chief Risk Officer at the United States Mint. She is responsible for creating the Mint’s ERM program and leading the bureau-wide approach to risk management. In addition to creating and managing the Mint’s risk framework, Ms. Barber has implemented efforts to integrate risk based scenario planning exercises and program evaluations to add value to the organization’s future planning efforts. Prior to joining the Mint, Melanie worked in the Private Sector in project, program and account management for several multi-national engineering firms and spent time as a Combat Engineer in the United States Army. Melanie is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
