Dr. Willys Obuba Chache is a Risk Management professional and a researcher with over 11 years’ experience both in the Insurance Industry and the Energy Sector. He is proficient in strategic development and implementation, training and enforcing internal and external compliance requirements; and Senior Management and Board engagement on matters risk and compliance. He has further experience in engaging regulators and handling areas of improvements as per the regulatory requirements.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Business Administration (Finance Option) and a Master of Science in Finance, both from the University of Nairobi; and a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. His research interest is on the risk based supervision model in the insurance industry and banking sector, sustainability and climate risk
Dr. Chache is a Certified Enterprise Risk Manager, a Certified Balance Score Card professional, a Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII, UK) holder and a trained Lead Auditor- ISO 9001-2015. He has further training in Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), ISO 31000; and Business Continuity and Crisis management, and currently undertaking a certificate in Sustainability and Climate Risk by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
