Jason Bruno

The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Trust Funds Administration (BTFA) oversees the fiduciary trust funds held on behalf of Indian tribes and Individual Indian Money accounts, which includes an investment corpus of over $6 Billion. Mr. Bruno, a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES), and is the Director of the Office of Trust Risk, Evaluation, and Compliance (OTREC) at BTFA, and also BTFA’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Jason oversees BTFA’s Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Regulatory Trust Compliance programs, as well as Strategic Planning, Data Governance, and Audit Liaison. Jason also is BTFA’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to coming to BTFA, Jason worked as the Deputy Director of the Indian Trust Litigation Office within DOI’s office of the Solicitor, and as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental and Natural Resources Section. Jason started his legal career as an associate at Dickstein Shapiro, LLP, in Washington, DC.
