The Association for Federal Enterprise Risk Management (AFERM) greeted the release of OMB Circular A-123, “Management’s Responsibility for Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Control,” and related Chief Financial Officers Council (CFOC) and the Performance Improvement Council (PIC) “Playbook: Enterprise Risk Management for the U.S. Federal Government” with great enthusiasm.

“AFERM welcomes this release and its carefully crafted approach to ERM,” stated Todd Grams, AFERM’s President. “ERM promises to greatly improve agency performance. The Circular has been thoroughly vetted by ERM practitioners across government, and the Playbook guidance offers an innovative approach when establishing a comprehensive and effective ERM program.”

AFERM offers professionals interested in federal ERM the chance to attend quarterly lunches and the AFERM annual summit, to be held this year on November 8th and 9th. For more information, contact AFERM Media Relations at AFERM.Media@gmail.com, and check out the AFERM website at www.AFERM.org.
