President’s Memo: AFERM AGA Joining Forces and 2026 Virtual Summit

President's Memo - March 20, 2026

AFERM and AGA Joining Forces and 2026 Virtual Summit

Colleagues,

As we move forward with joining forces with AGA, I want to provide clarity around what this transition means in practical terms.

Change can raise questions. Increased communication reduces uncertainty.

What Will Change

Over the coming months:

  • AFERM website resources will migrate to a dedicated ERM section within AGA’s website.  Stay tuned for more details to follow.
  • Administrative functions will transition to AGA’s support structure.
  • Branding alignment will evolve.

What Will Remain

  • Annual ERM Summit
  • Communities of Practice
  • Quarterly thought leadership contributions
  • Practitioner-driven programming
  • Collaborative working groups

We are establishing a formal ERM Committee within AGA to preserve leadership focus and continuity.

I recently joined Paul Marshall on a AFERM podcast episode to discuss this transition more fully.  The link to the podcast can be found here: Episode 86: AFERM President Twyman

Again, please:

Transparency will remain a priority as we move through this transition.
