Membership Information

SECTION 1. MEMBERS

The members of the Association shall consist of individuals and private sector entities. The six (6) classes of members are: 1) Government (e.g., Federal, local and state government employees); 2) Academic Staff; 3) Students; 4) Non-Government; 5) Retirees; and 6) Sponsors.

SECTION 2. GOVERNMENT MEMBERS

This class of membership is available to Government employees who have experience or interest involving the professional performance of risk management activities in an operational, administrative or supervisory capacity.

SECTION 3. ACADEMIC STAFF MEMBERS

This class of membership is available to educators (including teachers, professors, adjunct professors, and administrative staff), administrators, and researchers that are employed with an academic institution.

SECTION 4. STUDENT MEMBERS

This class of membership is available to full-time students who do not hold full-time employment. The student membership is renewable annually for up to 6 years while the member meets the student requirements.

SECTION 5. NON-GOVERNMENT MEMBERS

This class of membership is available to all other individuals who are actively engaged in or interested in risk management and support AFERM’s purpose and objectives.

SECTION 6. RETIREE MEMBERS

This class of membership is available to a current AFERM member who (a) has permanently retired from government, academia, not-for-profit, or commercial enterprises, and (b) currently, is not a full-time employee.
