Seeking 2025 Virtual Summit Committee Leaders!

AFERM invites you to join our 2025 Virtual Summit Planning Committee. We are looking for volunteers to support the ‘Sessions & Speakers’ sub-committee, which includes the following tasks:

  • Identify possible plenary speakers & topics and submit recommendations to the AFERM Board for approval
  • Support the call for breakout session speakers
  • Assign speakers & topics to the Summit schedule
  • Coordinate volunteers, including session moderators
  • Help to develop speaker training

Join the Small Agency Community of Practice!

SACoP provides a venue for smaller agencies to share best practices and resources on ERM implementation and serves as a forum to discuss common challenges, provide learning opportunities, and foster networking and collaboration. They meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, 2:00 - 3:30 PM ET.

It mentions that organizations have an opportunity to increase enterprise-wide risk awareness and outlines practical steps to enhance Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) maturity by implementing consistent risk assessment practices. The report argues that increased collaboration between ERM and internal audit can happen without compromising independence. In a dynamic risk environment, ERM and internal audit working collaboratively to proactively identify emerging risks and embed risk intelligence into strategic business planning, helps elevate their impact.
