Introducing AFERM University!  We co-developed the RIMS-CRMP-FED Certification. Now we are teaching it! No one knows ERM in government like AFERM, one of the original developers of the RIMS-CRMP-FED Certification. Now, through AFERM University, you can affiliate with a community of certified practitioners dedicated to ERM at all levels of government, speaking the same language with your certification.

AFERM is now offering RIMS-CRMP-FED Preparatory Courses. The first two-day, live, virtual, course is Monday, June 2, and Tuesday, June 3, from 9:00am – 4:00pm ET. Participants who complete this program are eligible for the RIMS-CRMP and RIMS-CRMP-FED examinations [as part of the course fee] at no cost, provided the course participant sits for the examination within 90 days of completing this course.

Executive Order on Modernizing Payments to and from America’s Bank Account: On March 25, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order signaling the intent to reduce fraud, waste and abuse by discontinuing the practice of issuing and receiving paper-based payments, including checks and money orders, from the United States General Fund. This Executive Order promotes operational efficiency by mandating the transition to electronic payments for all Federal disbursements and receipts by digitizing payments to the extent permissible under applicable law (but not, for avoidance of doubt, to establish a Central Bank Digital Currency). It also directs agencies to use standard financial management solutions available through the Financial Management Marketplace, administered by the Financial Management Quality Service Management Office (FM QSMO). Federal asks Agency CIOs to Inventory Licenses with top 5 Software Vendors: The newly appointed Federal CIO has called for agency CIOs to inventory licenses with the five software vendors that earn the most from federal contracts by April 2 as part of a larger software accounting initiative. This step is expected to identify cost savings opportunities by reducing duplicative purchases and identifying economies of scale for software purchases. To start, the federal CIO called for CIOs to identify licenses with the five software vendors who do the most business with the federal government: Microsoft, Adobe, Salesforce, Oracle and ServiceNow by April 2.
